The Shipley School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Spanish FLES teacher to support our expanding lower and middle school program. The ideal candidate will:
Teach 100% in the target language using a full immersion approach
Execute lessons using authentic literature, games, and songs
Utilize Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) techniques and engage multiple modalities
Develop an intellectually challenging PreK-5 Spanish program informed by developmentally appropriate and research-based practices that is inquiry-based, rigorous, integrates culturally responsive pedagogy and emphasizes language acquisition
Individualize and differentiate instruction, nurture wellbeing, and motivate and challenge students utilizing a variety of instructional and assessment methods
Assume responsibility for all work included in a teaching assignment including progress reports and home/school communication, scheduling, etc.
Integrate technology to enrich student learning
Cultivate a sense of community, social responsibility, and an appreciation and respect for individual differences
Work closely and cooperatively with colleagues and administrative teams
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, kindness, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, willingness to learn and grow professionally, a cooperative spirit and a commitment to teamwork

Have a minimum of three years teaching elementary Spanish
Hold a Bachelor's degree
Superior level of proficiency in Spanish language
