In our Middle School, you’ll teach and learn alongside ninety other faculty who embody the same intellectual curiosity, wholesome intensity, and creative spirit as our students. Supervisor: Head of the Middle School
Position Status: This position is a salaried, exempt, part-time, regular, 10-month position.
Candidates should have a strong academic background in Middle School History with an undergraduate degree in History or related field or discipline. Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience and a Master’s degree are preferred.
Background in World Cultures and US History preferred
Teach sections of World Cultures (6th), US History (7th), and electives (8th) as assigned
Teach and support students as part of the Homeroom advisory program
Create multi-disciplinary course work, including STEAM-related initiatives
Co-teach a 2-week immersive, interdisciplinary class duringMayATL
Work directly with other Middle School teachers as part of a Professional Learning Community
Contribute to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring other extracurricular programs
Fulfill supervisory duties as assigned
Additionally, successful candidates should demonstrate:

The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
