Friends Select School is seeking a full time upper school Spanish teacher for the 2021-22 school year. In addition to teaching Spanish, this position includes upper school advising, teaching one or two English electives, and being a member of the upper school faculty. The ideal candidate will be warm, student-focused, and enjoy working in a close-knit, collegial environment.
The World Languages department incorporates a CI/TPRS (Comprehensible Input/Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) approach. Experience teaching in upper school is an asset, as is experience in a Quaker setting. The ideal candidate will possess fluency in Spanish and have experience with teaching literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking world to second language learners of Spanish. Candidates should highlight their experience teaching senior English electives in their materials as well.
Applicants should apply online via the School's iSolved portal by submitting a resume, cover letter, and three references to Chris Singler, Director of Upper School. References will not be contacted unless the candidate is a finalist for the position. Materials accepted until June 11, unless the search closes before then.
