Tabor Academy seeks a compelling and passionate educator to teach Spanish core and elective classes (or even beginner level French) in the Modern and Classical Languages Department, to serve as a dorm parent with related duties, and to coach or the equivalent for two seasons in the afternoon program. This position includes housing.
The successful candidate will:

plan lessons, teach, evaluate and provide feedback for mastery— communicative and intercultural
have native or near-native fluency in Spanish
understand the essentials of teaching for communicative and intercultural competency, as well as be committed to developing curricula to suit the department’s initiatives
possess a high degree of cultural competency and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and perspectives
demonstrate fluency with academic technology that advances learning for students and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom experiences
enjoy collaborating with colleagues within and across subject areas, and all aspects of school life
invest in the community and participate in the lives of our students outside of the classroom
convey patience and empathy with adolescents
be self-reflective, able to work independently, and committed to professional growth
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Preferred: Experience in residential oversight and/or secondary or post-secondary instruction.
