St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) of Alexandria, Virginia seeks a dynamic educator to assume the position of part-time Lower School Technology Teacher. The Lower School Technology Teacher will work closely with the Lower School Technology Coordinator to teach technology skills, knowledge, and problem solving to students in the elementary school. In addition, the Lower School Technology Teacher will support classroom teachers throughout the school with the implementation of integrated technology lessons based on the departmental learning standards, and the Digital Citizenship program.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching young children in a classroom setting, and educational and/or work experience in the field of educational technology. In addition, candidates shall possess a desire for ongoing professional growth. Experience teaching some programming skills (Lego Mindstorms, Scratch, Code.org, etc.) and 3D printing would be helpful.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, plan, and implement the Technology Education curriculum through daily lessons to elementary students, to meet defined standards and objectives.
Instruct students in the proper use, care and safe handling of technology related systems and devices.
Support our Makerspace and student podcast programs.
Mentor the school’s FLL Jr. robotics team.
