STATUS: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT (25 hrs/wk) REPORTS TO: HEAD OF UPPER SCHOOL START DATE: AUGUST 23, 2021
Position Overview: This position (grades 6 & 7) will join with our upper school Spanish teachers in teaching and developing the Spanish program in our upper school. Faculty also fulfill supervisory lunch/recess duties, serve as advisors to students, oversee community service activities, participate in orientations, school events, and faculty meetings.
Core Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in teaching Spanish at the middle school level, native or near-native fluency in the language, advanced degree in Spanish is preferable, extensive knowledge of Latinx and Spanish literature and culture; ability to work collaboratively, familiarity with technology as a tool in teaching Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications: Spanish fluency with very strong written and oral skills; minimum three years teaching experience in an academically challenging school, experience and interest in curriculum design and development; and familiarity with middle school students.
