Seeking experienced reading specialist for a Christian Elementary School. The Covenant School is looking for a teacher who demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the teaching of reading and who is excited about sharing their faith with children. Applicants who hold a Master’s degree and an endorsement as a Reading specialist are preferred. Organized professionals who cultivate strong partnerships with parents should apply.
Primary Responsibilities: This person is responsible for:
Administering and interpreting diagnostic reading tests
Providing direct instruction in reading, writing, and spelling for identified groups and individuals with an emphasis on emergent, beginning, or transitional readers
Collaborating with classroom teachers on the use of assessment data to plan and support instruction
Organizing and maintaining book room
Qualified candidates will have: a commitment to Covenant’s Christian principles; experience working with students; a genuine caring attitude toward students; the ability to communicate clearly and establish effective, working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff; and the ability to be flexible working with various levels of students, subjects, and teaching methodologies. The person must also be comfortable sharing his/her faith with students.
