We are looking to welcome into the St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School community a teacher of Spanish who is passionate about teaching Spanish language and culture to students in our upper elementary grades, experienced in fostering a love of language learning in young learners, accomplished in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, capable of generating enthusiasm and excitement while conducting class in the target language, and proficient in incorporating the ACTFL proficiency guidelines into their lessons.
Our Lower School world language program promotes intellectual curiosity, a love of discovery, and a passion for learning about other cultures and the world through access to materials and resources that celebrate the diversity of our global community. We are looking for a teacher who collaborates well with colleagues to inspire students to embrace language learning while developing cultural competence.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of language acquisition theory, best practice in language instruction, and best practice in technology integration.
Candidates not yet trained in the Responsive Classroom approach will be required to take a four day course. Candidates should possess a keen understanding of child developmental and learning modalities. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a relevant field; experience is preferred.
