Provides high level operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to admissions and recruitment methodologies and standards to successfully recruit undergraduate, M.A. and M.I.A.(professional degree) students to the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, with the goal of continuing to increase the number of students that the Hamilton Lugar School attracts and building this new school's reputation and footprint. Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives.
Provides strategies, direction and guidance on high priority admissions and recruitment projects / initiatives, including initiatives focused on fostering diversity and inclusion and conducting outreach to build new pipelines into the school from a variety of geographic areas. Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, technologies, policies, and procedures; responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs. Develops, oversees and implements new recruitment strategies for attracting high-quality undergraduate and graduate students to HLS. Responsibilities include undergraduate degrees and professional Master's degrees. Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project / multi-phase admissions and recruitment initiatives. Manages high level assignments and allocation of admissions and recruitment resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments/areas/teams. May coordinate large-scale admissions and recruitment projects with a wide audiences in support of academic initiatives. Determines proper allocation of resources (human, financial, programmatic) for recruitment efforts. Collects and disseminates data to target potential students and their families effectively. Responsible for assessing efficacy of all recruitment activities.
Works closely with department chairs, faculty, and academic and career advisors in HLS to ensure school is offering the curriculum and professional development opportunities students seek. Works closely with Assistant Dean to schedule and publicize courses with the goals of ensuring that students receive an elite education, that students can take the courses they need, and that HLS maximizes enrollment.
To achieve the goal of increasing undergraduate and graduate student enrollment, this position will work closely with Dean's office and senior school leadership. Works with the Director of Communication and Marketing and with Director of Finance to develop full range of marketing materials, strategic communications, and events. Creates itinerary for visitors to campus, ensuring visitors meet with right mix of students, faculty, and staff. Selects, trains and manages a team of roughly 10-20 Student Ambassadors to represent the School, meet with potential students, answer questions, and serve as public face of HLS. Works closely with Alumni Relations to develop an effective Alumni Ambassador Program and leverage alumni network. Develops strong relationships with campus partners and represents HLS at on-campus and off-campus recruitment programs run by Office of Admissions, Office of Enrollment Management, and Office of Scholarships. Some experience or interest in international or global settings preferred.
Meets with students and parents on a daily basis. Participates in a range of HLS and campus events, in-person and virtual, and which may require travel.
Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment. Conducts research on emerging technologies, services, protocols/processes, and/or standards in support of admissions and recruitment efforts. Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration, executive, steering and advisory committees.
Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or a related field and four years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or a related field, with one year of management experience in a relevant field.

Working Conditions / Demands
Domestic and occasional international travel. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
