The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a High School Assistant Mathematics Teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Abide by all applicable policies, procedures, and rules established by the school and as specified in the Churchill Staff Handbook.
Support the head teacher with taking attendance each period, grading assignments, and the planning of math lessons and assignments.
Contribute to the school’s professional learning community in accordance to the highest professional standards of the teaching profession.
Work collaboratively with faculty members.
Assist with preparation of student progress reports and IEPs.
Attend professional development workshops provided by the school.
Support students by
scaffolding in-class assignments, tasks and projects
helping them develop critical thinking, problem solving skills, and tools to self-advocate and be productive learners
utilizing multimodal methods of teaching
The ideal candidate will have...
BA or BS Degree in an area of mathematics (a Master’s degree in Education, Special Education or a related field is helpful but not required)
Knowledge of and interest in high school mathematics up to the Calculus level
Experience building positive and appropriate relationships with people
Familiarity with using a Texas Instruments Graphing Calculator
Interest in professional career development in the field of education
Patience, flexibility, good organization skills, and a sense of humor
