Pine Point School is seeking an experienced and innovative 8th and 9th-grade science and math teacher. Candidates should have a passion for working with middle school students, understand their needs, and be able to differentiate instruction. Instruction includes an inquiry-based, integrated curriculum focused on marine biology, human biology, algebra, and geometry. In addition to regular field instruction on the water, this unique position includes oversight and operation of the school’s 24-foot boat. Candidates should be able to collaborate with colleagues in a progressive learning environment and be dedicated to the Pine Point School mission.
Instruction is provided through a collaborative, active, and engaging curriculum focused on science and problem solving through collaboration. The candidate must commit to integrating science with the curriculum and be willing to work with a dynamic and creative team. The position includes writing report cards/comments, conferencing with parents, and maintaining consistent communication with colleagues and parents of students. Full participation in our school environment, such as advising, coaching, leading co-curricular programs, and field trips, is expected.
