St. Johns Country Day School, an independent college preparatory school, is seeking an experienced Mathematics teacher capable of teaching Algebra, Geometry, and AP Calculus. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the field of Mathematics as well as a flexible, dynamic, and engaging educator adept at collaborating effectively with others to achieve a common vision.
The position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in Mathematics, or equivalent. Proven experience as a math teacher. A minimum of three years teaching experience at the Middle and/or Upper School level preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
Cultivating positive professional relationships with students, families and staff.
Designing and conducting student-centered instruction.
Contributing to the broader school community by participating in activities, events, and trips outside the classroom.
Actively collaborate with colleagues across grade level, subject area, and interdisciplinary teams.
Seek out and participate in opportunities for professional growth and development that result in the implementation of applicable current, modern teaching practices.
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to effectively innovate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong proficiency and adaptability in educational technology and modern pedagogy.
A growth mindset and ability to meet a diversity of students where they are.
Additional Salary Information: The position is for the academic year starting in August 2021. A salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications is paid to employees annually.
