Ravenscroft School is seeking an experienced teacher who is a passionate, enthusiastic, hard-working positive role model to join our Physical Education Department.
Paramount to fulfilling our mission is the commitment to nurturing a young person’s individual potential. Our Health & Physical Education teacher must have an in-depth understanding of teaching health & physical education to Upper School and Middle School aged students and be committed to our educational approach to comprehensive student support (we call Lead from Here) in their growth and learning.
He or she must prioritize relationship building with colleagues, students, and their families. Collaboration will include being able to establish an effective working relationship with the Assistant Head of School for Student Affairs and the Chairs of Physical Education. He or she must be able to exercise good judgment and comply with school standards as they relate to faculty conduct.
The duties will include teaching health education and physical education in the Upper School and Middle School
Working cooperatively with other health and physical education teachers in planning and implementing a comprehensive program
Establish and maintain standards of excellence for supervision and student engagement
Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration as needed regarding social, emotional, and physical development of students
Plan and ensure that curriculum and lessons are designed to meet the needs of multiple levels of skill and a wide range of learners
Flexibility to work in a wide variety of settings and shared facilities
Coaching sports in at least two seasons is required, preferably at the Varsity level
Candidates will work under the supervision of the PE Department Chairs and the Assistant Head of School for Student Affairs

An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and/or Health is required;
Health and Physical Education teaching experience are essential;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with faculty team members are of paramount importance;
Effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross);
CPR certification and first aid training are required;
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
