San Jose Country Club is looking to add an Assistant Superintendent to its Golf Course Maintenance Team. Located in the East Foothills of San Jose, we offer incomparable views of Downtown San Jose, as well as the surrounding Bay Area. We have a rich and illustrious history that dates back to 1899 making us one of the oldest clubs in California.
Our goal on the maintenance team is to provide its members and guests a course with excellent playing conditions consistently. In order to provide that experience for them we work as a team to accomplish daily tasks.
The Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and other Assistants to plan, direct, supervise and inspect all aspects of maintenance to the golf course. This candidate will also be responsible for pesticide and fertilizer applications, crew supervision and training, record keeping, and monitoring turf conditions.
While not required, playing and understanding the game of golf is a huge plus. We want you to play so you can see the course from the members point of view and be able to give feedback. Work/life balance is key for us as well.
Discussion and prioritization of tasks with the other Assistants and the Superintendent will be a key role in the job. You will be a valuable member of our team and will work with all staff in a hands-on/low stress work environment.
