Epiphany School, a private, non-sectarian, independent PreK-5 school is currently seeking a Third Grade Teacher for the 2021-22 school year. The classroom teacher creates and manages the classroom learning environment to provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
This is a full-time, exempt academic school year position reporting to the Upper Elementary Division Head.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, teach, and assess academic and social-emotional curricula in collaboration with grade level partner, specialist teachers, and the academic administration.
Assess student learning and growth through use of formal and informal assessment tools including progress reports and communicating results to families and administrators.
Effectively using technology to maximize student learning and collaborate and communicate with colleagues and school administrators.
Plan, organize, and attend curricula-based field trips, including multi-night trips if applicable.
Communicate weekly with families using the school’s designated communication tools.
Establish and manage classroom culture based on mission and values of the schools
Manage classroom environment, resources and annual budget
Provide lunch and recess coverage and arrival and dismissal duties
Participate in professional learning opportunities at Epiphany School and in the greater education community
Participate in school admission, development, and community events
Participate in committees and provide input on school decisions
Bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field, as well as a teaching certificate.
Minimum three years of elementary or middle school classroom teaching experience.
Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice.
Ability to manage a range of ongoing tasks and maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; good presentation skills.
Experience and comfort working in a Microsoft environment including MS Office.
Ability to teach on-campus and in-person.
Ability to teach in a virtual environment as needed.
Must be collaborative, motivated, organized and?process oriented.
Ability to deal with emergencies.
Commitment to student and family confidentiality.
Meet all Epiphany School health and safety training requirements.
Position typically requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to transport up to twenty (20) pounds.
This position is required to be on-site; work is typically performed in a school environment, including the office, classroom, playground, and on school grounds
