The successful candidate will plan and implement the curriculum using a variety of approaches within a co-teaching model. Knowledge of Teachers College Readers and Writers Workshop and a strong phonics background are essential. The candidate must also be able to incorporate project-based learning that is student-driven. The candidate should use a Responsive classroom approach to running morning meetings and addressing the social and emotional needs of students. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, and a strong work ethic, as well as enthusiasm for being a committed team member, are all critically important. Teams of teachers work collaboratively to meet each student's needs in the most effective manner possible.
All applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the Elementary level is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum, are also highly desirable skills for a serious candidate.
