Mount Tamalpais School (MTS), a K-8 independent school serving up to 250 students in Mill Valley, California is looking for on-call, per-diem Guest Teachers. These educators will partner with MTS teachers to provide a cohesive educational experience throughout the school year, as needed.
Our mission calls on us to create a “vigorous, creative and process-driven” program that “develops children who are well prepared for their future while remaining young at heart.” Per-Diem Guest Teachers will be asked to do this as they teach academic classes, lead homeroom or advisory sessions, and supervise recess and lunch. MTS is also committed to a diverse and inclusive community. To that end, we are seeking a person to add to and enhance our work on diversity, equity and inclusion as well as cultural competency. An educator who wants to contribute to a growing and thriving organization will excel as a Per-Diem Guest Teacher throughout the 2021-22 school year.
Health & Safety
We have invested over $750,000 to ensure a safe learning environment for our teachers and students. These investments coupled with our robust policies and protocols – closely scrutinized by Marin County Public Health – allowed us to open for on-campus instruction through a Marin County Waiver in early September 2020. Due to partnership and trust with teachers, families, and administration, MTS safely and successfully engaged in on-campus instruction for the 2020-21 school year. Careful planning, a vigilant parent and faculty community, and strong resources make MTS a safe place to teach in 2021-22.
