Position will be responsible for reporting (standard and ad hoc), analysis, modeling for budgeting, ERP, process improvements, ensuring data integrity, etc. Projects may be high-profile and routinely require accuracy, scrutiny, confidentiality, and tight deadlines. Position will also manage projects across multiple directors, managers, department administrators, and department chairs in the academic, financial and operational areas of School. Serves as lead staff specialist in financial accounting, providing financial analysis, reporting and budgeting services for assigned departments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a strategic partner for assigned business units as well as, point of escalation.
Provides analysis of Budget, Forecast, Monthly and Year-end closing, including written summary analysis of assigned departmental results.
Reviews departmental operating reports to verify compliance with school, university, industry and GAAP procedures, policies, guidelines and standards.
Assembles selected segments of the Medical School Budget, Forecast and Quarterly closing process.
Disseminates information to departments regarding Budget, Forecast and Monthly and Year-end closing process.
Prepares closing journals for selected departments or types of activities.
Provides valuation of receivables and determines the discount rates for all clinical departments, while maintaining a collaborative relationship with internal billing department (Physician Billing Services/EPIC1 team) for revenue accounting.
Creates ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by medical school leadership.
Promotes departmental awareness and provides support for Workday/Adaptive Insights Enterprise Resource Planning process.
MBA and/or CPA.
Analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Working knowledge of clinical revenue income accounting, general accounting and PC skills.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in health care accounting.
Workday, Adaptive, EPIC and Microsoft Excel experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Two to three years of training and experience in accounting and accounting analysis.
$62,000.00 - $106,000.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
