Oakwood School in Northern Virginia is now accepting applications for a part-time assistant teacher with appropriate training to serve Elementary to Middle School students with learning disabilities. A basic understanding of multisensory teaching methods, diverse learning styles, and specific strategies for teaching students with learning needs and dyslexia is required. Some training can be provided to a motivated candidate.
Position includes leading small groups in reading and math, overseen by a member of the Academic Team. An appropriate candidate will also demonstrate positive classroom management techniques for students with attentional issues, processing challenges, dysgraphia, and language-based learning disabilities.
