Associate teacher works with one head classroom teacher in a classroom. The associate teacher’s responsibility is to work alongside the head classroom teacher in all duties of the classroom, be they academic or organizational.
The associate teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and teaching specific subject areas as determined by the teacher.
The associate teacher is responsible for writing progress reports for the children in the classroom.
The associate teacher is responsible for preparing, attending, and leading Parent-Teacher Conferences.
The associate teacher is responsible for helping to plan and prepare materials for all lessons with the head classroom teacher.
The associate teacher is responsible for assisting the students and the head classroom teacher during class time, planning time, and the time when lessons are being taught.
The associate teacher is responsible for any assigned administrative tasks.
The associate teacher is expected to sit with the class during learning times.
