In-House Substitute Teacher and Administrative Assistant
Position Start Date: August 2021
Berkshire Country Day School seeks a qualified in-house, full-time, Substitute Teacher for all subjects in PK through Grade 8. A valid teaching credential along with a minimum of two years of teaching experience is preferable.
We are looking for a talented, creative, hard-working, team player, with an appreciation of the developmental characteristics of students in the lower and middle grades to join our strong faculty for the 2021-2022 school year.
The in-house Substitute Teacher will be assigned a class or program from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade when needed.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Acting as a role model of professionalism
Supporting the philosophy, policies, goals of the school, as well as the decisions made by the Administrators
Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all students.
Adhering to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Handbook
Implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher that is absent
Ensuring a positive environment where each student is encouraged to reach his/her potential and to take the risk.
Providing lunch/playground/carpool supervision as assigned.
Treating children with dignity and respect.
Maintaining a professional attitude with students, parents, and other staff members.
Administrative assistant work may include but is not limited to, organizing the school library, answering the main phone line, and filing work as needed
