Friends Academy seeks a full-time MS Math teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will teach four sections of 8th-grade Algebra. The ideal candidate will have experience designing inquiry-based pre-Algebra and Algebra curriculum for older middle school students. A full-time faculty position, this role includes serving as an advisor for 10-12 students and supporting a co-curricular activity by coaching a sport or advising a major school activity. All faculty members are expected to support activities and events that contribute to the life of the school and to attend departmental, divisional, and all-school staff meetings.
An undergraduate degree in math, math education, or a similar discipline is required, and a graduate degree is preferred. We seek candidates with at least three to five years of successful independent school teaching experience.
