This could be your class! Lake Champlain Waldorf School is seeking a class teacher for our second grade, with the option to "loop" with the same group through 6th grade. There are 10 students in the class and we anticipate adding a few more before the start of the school year. They are a cheerful, enthusiastic class who had a great start with our first-grade specialist who will work closely with the new teacher to support the transition. The class has a very supportive parent community who look forward to forming a relationship with the class teacher who will shepherd their child through the next phase of their elementary years.

The Lower School campus is surrounded by Nature Conservancy forest, literally at its doorstep. Position Description: Class teachers are responsible for core academics, social studies, art, and the school-wide anti-bias curriculum and tending to the overall social life of the class community. Class Teachers are supported by specialists in music, world languages (Spanish, Mandarin, and Abenaki!), handwork, and gym. Programmatic support in math and ELA is available and student educational/social/emotional support. Class Teachers are key members of the Lower School Branch and participate collaboratively in making the decisions that affect their students.
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree • 2+ years of teaching experience • Having, or willing and able to commit to, Waldorf teacher training • Exceptional interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues • Creative, collaborative approach • Interest in and commitment to an evolving, modern, progressive Waldorf school
Additional Salary Information: We offer a base salary of $41,170 plus increments for experience or additional qualifications. Employees also receive healthcare benefits, professional development funds, and tuition remission.
