The Churchill School and Center is seeking a full time music teacher for the Middle School division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Individual responsibilities will vary based on the teacher's skills and interests, but candidates should have extensive classroom experience and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a group of enthusiastic arts educators, across all content areas and divisions.
Plan curriculum, lessons and assignments/projects.
Develop critical thinking, problem solving skills and tools for students to become independent learners.
Break down/scaffolding of in-class assignments and projects.
Grade student work and participation.
Track student’s work and progress.
The ideal candidate will have...
BA or BS Degree (Degree in Music Education, Special Education or related field required)
MA or MS Degree (Degree in Music Education or Special Education or related field preferred)
NYS Teacher Certification preferred
Three or more years of classroom experience building positive and appropriate relationships with middle school age students
Knowledge of, or willingness to continue higher levels of education to obtain knowledge of effective teaching strategies and methodologies for working with children with language-based learning disabilities
Candidate should be highly motivated and well organized with strong skills in verbal expression.
Band direction and facilitation of private lessons.
Experience with musical theater and accompaniment is a plus.
Knowledge of, or experience with, learning disabilities is a plus.
