The Clubs of Prestonwood (The Hills Course) is seeking an experienced person for the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The Club is made up of 36 holes of golf (two different locations) with the 18 hole Hills course situated in Plano. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position is responsible for assisting the Superintendent for the successful operation of the private 18 hole Hills golf course, driving range and all clubhouse grounds associated with the club. The course features Penncross Bentgrass greens and Tifway 419 Bermudagrass in all other areas. Dave Bennett of Austin designed the 18-hole championship Hills Course. This course offers members one of the most exciting golfing challenges today. The course encompasses rolling hills, crystal waterscapes and a profusion of natural foliage.
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible as directed of the golf course maintenance operation and staff under the leadership of the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course.
Duties include (but are not limited to) assessing and providing guidance and expertise to maintain rigorous industry and environmental standards in turf quality, including use of specialized knowledge in various fields of agronomy. Also included are implementation of turfgrass maintenance programs, property and asset management, assisting with forecasting and expense management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications and related record keeping.
Formal Turf/Agronomy training or education preferred.
2 or more years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and record keeping as required by local, state, and federal laws
Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Employee Partners, Members and Guests
