Midway Elementary School is seeking elementary educators to complement our existing Dual Language teams, in the target language of Spanish. We are seeking two DL teachers to join our 3rd grade DL team as part of the roll-up, and are also seeking a DL teacher to join our 2nd grade team. These individuals have a demonstrated commitment to anti-racist education as reflected in their teaching and learning practices, in addition to possessing expertise in differentiation for language learners and students who receive Special Education services. Additionally, an ideal candidate for these roles is someone who is fluent in Spanish and has taken, or is willing to take, the ACTFL test. Additionally, an ideal candidate would also approach DL teaching from a biliteracy lens and has expertise in early literacy instruction. Ideal candidates for our positions are individuals who are highly collaborative team-players, and have strong digital literacy skills which are reflected in their systems of organization, through instruction with students, and in communication with families.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade/subject area endorsement(s) Native or native-like proficiency in oral and academic World Language and English
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Pass ACTFL language proficiency test in the specified World Language with advanced-low or higher score Criminal background clearance
