The Wolf School, an innovative independent lower and middle school for children with multiple learning challenges, is currently recruiting a RI special education certified classroom teacher.
History of the Wolf School
The Wolf School, a small independent day school in East Providence, RI was founded to provide a unique educational environment for children with multiple learning differences in grades K-8 to reach their full academic and social potential. The founding members created a model that emphasizes the development of core grade-level skills taught through a therapeutically guided curriculum. As a result, our students make significant gains academically and socially.
General statement of duties and responsibilities:
Work with students in various settings, develop and modify a therapeutically guided curriculum, generate reports to meet students’ needs, communicate with families, coordinate with therapists, and plan for teaching assistants.
At The Wolf School, we believe that a small school setting makes a difference for children experiencing multiple learning difficulties. With a class size between 4-11 students and a teacher-student ratio of no more than 1:4, we can provide a nurturing, developmental approach to independent academic success. Learning at The Wolf School is individualized for optimal results and incorporates technology supports and hands-on experiential lessons to meet the specific needs of our students. Wolf fosters a safe, caring, creative environment where children not only learn — they thrive.
