Oakwood School in Northern Virginia is now accepting applications for substitute teachers with appropriate training to serve Elementary to Middle School students with learning disabilities. Oakwood is a small, private school serving students in Grades 1 - 8 who have learning disabilities and dyslexia. A substitute must have appropriate understanding of teaching students with special needs and classroom management skills.
Oakwood will have two teachers with up to 12 students in each Homeroom with smaller groups for Reading, Writing, and Math. The substitute teacher will help the lead teacher in the classroom for large group activities and will take a small group to a different location for instruction in Reading, Writing and Math.
Any applicant will be required to fill out a job application with information about past experiences, supply references, and pass a background check.
