The Williston Northampton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton, Massachusetts with a culturally diverse educational community of approximately 500 students in grades 7-12. We have an immediate need to hire a French Teacher, to begin early/mid-November and finish out the 21-22 academic year. This position is responsible for teaching French, actively planning with the full-time classroom teacher, in advance of her leave, creating and updating plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. The candidate will be well versed in the philosophy and execution of inquiry-based instruction within ACTFL standards. The candidate will actively collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies to support all students. The candidate will attend all faculty and employee meetings and maintain good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.
The ideal candidate has experience teaching in independent, boarding, and/or public schools. The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred. Fluency in French and English is required. The candidate will demonstrate a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, experience integrating educational technologies into the teaching environment, strong writing and communication skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset.
