The role of the 4th-grade teacher is a collaborative one. The fourth-grade teacher will partner with another classroom teacher to teach 23 fourth-graders in math, language arts, social studies with a cross-curricular, project-based approach.
The fourth-grade teacher actively plans and delivers lessons, formally and informally assesses students, attends team and faculty meetings, conducts parent-teacher conferences, and writes progress reports.

facilitate whole group and small-group student-centered, engaging instruction
communicate and build partnerships with families
Establish a safe and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks through self-discovery, collaboration, and community engagement
Communicate and collaborate with other faculty and staff regarding each student
Participate in 4th-grade events such as field trips and outdoor education overnight
Partner with other 4th grade teachers to provide whole-group, small-group, and individual instruction in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and social/emotional curricula.
Assess student progress using a variety of formal and informal data collection tools and methods
Supervise students in other roles such as recess, lunch, specials classes, dismissal, etc.
Requirements / Qualifications:
1-2 years of direct teaching and curriculum development experience
Proficient technology skills including, but not limited to, taking attendance digitally, Microsoft Office and Google Suite (docs, sheets, drive, etc)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with children and parents in a warm, confident, empathetic manner
Have a flexible, positive, and can-do attitude
Be willing to jump in wherever you are needed with enthusiasm
