Reporting to the Director of the Virginia Marx Children's Center, the Teacher Assistant teaches and supervises children, aligned with the Center's philosophy in order to create developmentally appropriate curriculum implemented daily. The Teacher Assistant communicates effectively with families, peers and children on a daily basis as well as complies with NYS licensing regulations, NAEYC standards and QUALITYstarsNY criteria.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of an Associate's Degree or the satisfactory completion of 60 credits and one year of experience which involved working with children leading them in program areas such as music, history, nature, art, farming, etc. Knowledge of early childhood development is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's Degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of one year of experience working with children between the ages 6 weeks through 5 years also strongly preferred.
