Commonwealth Academy is currently seeking to hire a long-term substitute teacher to join its team for the 2021-2022 school year. Educators who thrive in our community are those who are flexible, creative, collaborative, possess a strong work ethic, and have a desire to foster student success. Qualified candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be proficient with technology. The ideal candidate is a generalist in nature but must demonstrate a desire for student achievement, the ability and confidence to manage a classroom of students, and be willing to follow a lesson plan from start to finish.
Please also note that a Bachelor's degree is required, a Master's degree and/or previous teaching experience is highly preferred. All employees must complete a criminal background check upon their official start date. Lastly, candidates must be willing to work on-campus and adhere to school-specific COVID-19 protocols.
Commonwealth Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for students grades 3-12 located in the Del Ray section of Alexandria, VA.
