Reports To: Head of Upper School
Summary: Saint Mary’s Hall seeks an outstanding Substitute Teacher to teach Upper School Mathematics and to be a part of a successful Mathematics Vertical K-12 Team. The successful candidate will teach two sections of AP Calculus AB and three sections of Geometry.
B.A./B.S. in Math or a related field required; M.A./M.S. in Math or a related field preferred (coursework through the Calculus sequence is preferred)
Secondary teaching certification preferred
Passion for subject matter and for working with bright, motivated teenagers in a rigorous, college-preparatory environment
Successful mathematics teaching experience in Upper School/High School, experience teaching AP Calculus is strongly preferred, experience teaching high school geometry is preferred
Vertical team experience preferred
Teach two preparations, covering five class periods.
Support the efforts of vertical team planning and curriculum alignment
Attend all required meetings of the Mathematics Vertical Team, Upper School Math Department, Form (Grade) Level, and Upper School Division
PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be provided lesson plans, homework assignments, calendars etc. and will NOT be expected to create extensive original lesson plans.
Approximate length of position: October 25 through March 4 (dates are approximate)

Work primarily in a traditional classroom setting
Work intermittently in outside weather conditions
